RCIA Program: Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults

Are you interested in becoming Catholic or learning about the Catholic faith? Welcome!

The Catholic Church’s mission is to offer people of all ages and backgrounds the opportunity to deepen their understanding and relationship with Jesus Christ.

Becoming Catholic involves a journey of fiath, accompanied by the support of a parish community. This process is called Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, or RCIA. During the RCIA process you meet with others to share, reflect, pray and learn more about the Catholic faith. There are ceremonies or ‘rites’ at each stage to signify the steps along the way.

Children’s Sacramental Program

Reconciliation – Confirmation – First Holy Communion

Sacramental Programs are offered every year starting with an information night in February.

If your child is a baptised Catholic and entering Year 3, they are eligible for the Sacrament of Confirmation, Reconciliation and First Communion will follow the following year (Year 4).

Children not attending St Finbarr’s Primary School will be led through the preparation program.

If your child is older than Year 3 and has not received any of the sacraments and is Baptised Catholic, eligibility for all three Sacraments will be on a case-by-case basis.

Please contact the Parish Office if you would like your child to receive the Sacraments of the Church or for further information.

Information about our 2023 Sacramental Program will be available in February 2023.

Anointing of the Sick and Anointing Masses

We hold anointing Masses four times a year. Please check our weekly bulletin for the next listed Mass.

If you require the anointing of the sick, please contact our Parish Office on 6685 6260.
